  Joe, I met a former South African beekeeper at the EAS Delaware 
meeting in 2007...also in 2001 at Bourne, Massachusetts.  First name 
Robin, but I forget the last name. He was from a family of beekeepers 
and after the Capensis problem, he emigrated to the US. Worked for a 
time at Strachan Apiaries and also for Walter T Kelley Co.

He gave a good presentation at Delaware about the Capensis problem, and 
would be a good one to contact. Perhaps someone on this list remembers 
him and would have his contact information.
