For those who knew him, I am sad to report the recent death, on December 13,
of Robert (Bob) Simpson.
 
Bob was a long-time faculty member at Colorado State University and a
beekeeper all his life.  Although he taught beekeeping courses at Colorado
State for years, he is perhaps best known in the industry as a
teacher/mentor for several of the current top bee researcher scientists in
the US.
