Just a point to ponder Alex  but an AC motor will develop maximum torque at
full RPM.  Since the typical  fractional motor is 1725 rpm make sure your
gearbox has sufficient turndown ratio to achieve 30 or so rpm while allowing
the motor to run at max rpm.
