I'm up in Michigan and have observed usurpation exactly once. I had 4
packages from a well known Texas supplier. One hive invaded its neighbor
about 15 feet away. It was pretty cool to watch, but not so cool to
experience since 2 decent hives became 1 weak hive... lots of dead bees as
a result. It was funny because I had just got done reading Wyatt Magnums
article on usurpation in ABJ a week or two previously.
