When your hives have a full complement of supers how tall will they be?
I find lifting anything that is higher than my chin to be unwieldy.
2 deeps and 5 mediums with bottom boards and covers add up to a height of
about
4 feet. How high from the ground is your chin?
As for only keeping one colony of bees, everyone I know advises against it as
it leaves little room for error.

What bees these mortals fool.
