I'm a beekeeper in Puerto Rico for the past 7 years, in the FIELD 100% and then some.
Puerto Rico has been africanized for the past 15 years or so.

Peter Borst commented: With much respect, this is not to be contradictory by no means, but informational due to actual field experience:
1- All that really matters is the BEHAVIOR..... 100% agreeable.
2- Don't agree attempting to re-queen a vicious hive!!!

In an environment of Africanized Honey Bees such as Puerto Rico a vicious hive is re-requeened precisely to modify it's BEHAVIOR and it works,
more often than not, if the queen is properly introduced. We must re-queen every 8 months to a year. Also by creating F1 queens the yield in honey is maintained
and BEHAVIOR controlled.

3- African bees in Puerto Rico reported to be manageable:
If you are referring that we have docile bees, handling bees without veil, bee suit, nor gloves. Then we don't qualify as manageable,
because you will get stung many, many, many times. There is an extremely high population of wild bees in the environment and very defensive.

4-Mite and/or disease resistant as well: 100% agreeable also.
That is explainable in a biology session, it has to do with the AHB drone cycle of life vs the european drone.

All that really matters is the behavior.

I don't agree with attempting to requeen a vicious hive.

African bees in Puerto Rico that are reported to be manageable. If they are
mite and/or disease resistant as well,
