1/3 cup/300 bees approximation that could be several % off if an actual
count of the bee samples was performed. 


Actually the quanity of bees in that measure have been counted many times
and the percentage is pretty close.    But its not rocket science in this
case.  If your of by 50 bees at 3% your missing or adding 1 mite. 

Much more important is the practice to be sure your rinse process was long
and steady enough to get a good check.  I notice that the lower counts I
tend to stir and swirl longer just to be sure.


I was pondering the number thing again last night.  Our best treatments we
have are only 98% effective anyway,  so getting below 1% in the summer/fall
is pretty well impossible.   Thinking she may have ment something else or I
misread what she was trying to say.
