??>Reading Bee-L I have got an understanding that most commercial US/
Canadian
beekeepers use more or less Fumidil to control NC.

Only because fumigillin is about all there is which has been shown to work
and is approved.

What we know is there is a problem in the bees mid gut and we suspect it is
caused by N. ceranae and can be controlled by fumigillin.

I have seen enough bees with mid gut issues to understand these bees have a
mid gut issue but not convinced the problem can *totally* be traced to N.
ceranae alone and certainly not convinced the condition responds to
fumigillin in all circumstances.

>Here in Europe that is not an option as it is illegal in EU. Spanish
>authorities
gave an special permit for few years against the general rule, but I don't
know
if they still use. Other countries don't as far as I know.

When labels are followed I see fumigillin as a safe product (been in use for
many decades in the U.S. without issue) and feel the worry over fumigillin
getting into honey mostly hype.
