I agree 100% with this. I would treat the yard, as any and all hives may be involved in robbing. There is the insidious robbing of weakened colonies which is not noticed by the beekeeper, as well as the more obvious plundering of a defenseless colony. Numerous authors have debunked the notion that drifting is a significant mode of disease transmission.
