Not true.

I use Jenter - but graft into them, rather than use the box.

Certainly re-use them many times; Albert Knight from BIBBA once told me that 
he valued those old cups because they got better acceptance.

I just use a cleaning tool to clear out the rubbish, then let the bees clean 
them for a couple of hours.  I have never tried to re-coat them with wax. 
The cleaning tool supplied by Jenter is very fiddly to use - I picked up a 
very much better one in Thailand!
