I find no fault with the way the study was ran.

Well, the study is a straight forward and has no fault. The question is simple" can you find out feeding sugar syrup laced with pesticides when or if bees will be killed?".

My question is about generalizing the results. We all know pesticides are designed to directly or indirectly kill bugs including good ones (e.g. honey bees). This study has confirmed other published and reported observations. However, it did not really create CCD symptoms. Therefore, the conclusion relating the results to explain CCD is a stretch. It has got all of our attention as well as the media.

By the way is Apistan now working against varroa or still mites resistant to it?
If it is working as effectively as we expect according to the study, it is good news for all of us.

If this is the case of neonics, 325,000 bee colonies should be dead by now in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba where about 20 million acres of neonics seed treated canola are grown every year for years and are the main source of honey.

Oops, in the back yard my easter bunny is changing colour from snow white to gray. It is time of the year. Happy Easter to all Bee-L members. Once again it is an excellent educational form. Enjoy the discussion!
