A few days back in the yellow jacket shortage discussions, mention was
made of the absence of monarch butterflies as though some cataclysmic
event had befallen them. I have noticed a decided absence of both this
summer, and had written it off to the cool weather we have had in up-
state N.Y. (the coolest July on record!). But, did I miss something?
Was there a catastrophe in the monarchs' kingdom? :)
