I am always hesitant to open in the winter, though I have used my 
stethoscope to listen from time to time.  I tend to be over cautious and 
wait until the weather allows flight, though this year I will need to get 
some feed on.  I left plenty of honey, though with the year we have had, I 
doubt that will be enough.
