I have just been reading about ABIS.  It was designed as a tool to identify 
species, rather than races, of bees.  Whilst I can see that it might be able 
to detect changes in AHB populations over a period of time, I am not sure 
that it is capable of identifying the racial mix in a sample of bees. 
Presumably it could identify racially pure samples, but would require 
samples to be obtained first so that it can be 'taught' to recognise them.
