Well Pete, I used to run while hives but discovered the local Ace Hardware
was storing returned paint so I pick up all the returns now and my hives
look like 'a coat of many colors'. I only use pastels as that is what
folks tend to pick out for house colors anyway. I kind of like the color
schemes now and figure it can't hurt the bees. I agree that it seems to
help the 5 frame nucs. I get the reject paint for $10 a gallon. A clerk
rang up a reject at full price by mistake the other day and the retail was
$34.95 so I am felling pretty good about the deals I get. I personally
would not have the gall to return a gallon of paint after I took it home.
We have them re-mix it if it is not right. Also, the way I have stayed
married 34 years is I let my wife pick out the paint colors. I have no
great eye for color so I trust her eye and it certainly makes for better
domestic harmony!

cheers!
