Charlie,

This would be a great research project.  Set up a dozen hives each in a
remote, pesticide-free area.  Set up half with heavily-contaminated combs,
and half with pesticide-free combs (by any of several methods).  Then track
colony strength, weight gain, and queen survivorship over the course of a
season.

Does anyone know of such a study being done?
