Two points:
1) I'm busy right now and only loosely following this convo, but this paper may contain the "isolated brood effect" experiment being sought.

Impact of temporal and rearing environment variations on brood ester pheromone production in the honey bee Apis mellifera
Jan 2024Comptes Rendus Chimie 26(S2):1-10
DOI: 10.5802/crchim.270

2) I've been thinking about this since I read it last night- is the phrase "decidedly humble" an oxymoron? If one "decides" to be humble, are they really humble? No comment on the poster, I just think it's an interesting phrase.

Cheers,
