I should have been specific when I wrote "That was interesting about the
soot and carbon dust causing some of the glacier melting" I
was referring to the link Juanse shared

I
did not intend that all glaciers are melting because of this. It made since
that some "spots" are melting because of the soot and carbon dust.  An
example being Iceland's volcano most likely causing soot to land on the
glaciers there and in Greenland.
