Hello Folks.

Does anyone have or know of (i.e. have a citation for) a field assay to determine if hives groom for
varroa mites?

In testing hives for mite grooming in 1995, I found all hives groom for mites somewhat. What is the
difference between normal grooming and grooming that depletes the mite population, thus making grooming
a phenotypic characteristic that could possibly be selected for?

Anyone have any thoughts?
