I had two such swarms (on the ground) last year. In both cases, the
homeowners said they'd been there at least a week and had started out in
a tree. In one case, I found the queen and she looked perfectly healthy
-- when I put a nuc box down next to it the majority marched right in.
In the other case, the lady's husband doused them with gasoline before I
got there.
