> I did a quick calculation for Apivar (15 g per strip @ 3.33% a.i., and Medhat's finding that nearly all the a.i. diffuses out) to come up with the result that each strip dispenses roughly 0.5 g of a.i. (anyone please correct me if I'm mistaken). So at the application rate of 1 strip per 5 frames of bees, Apivar is dispensing far more active ingredient than used by my commercial friend.

The thing is that the strip's dose is delivering materials for over 42 days. I am not sure how long the Taktic dose is delivered for? Is it delivered over few days???? The other issue to think about is that the Taktic mix is a lump of material placed on top of the center frames in one location. I wonder how much is evenly distributed through the hive? From my experience, you can see the material seeps under the lump of the material to honey in brood combs and becomes too greasy. Something to think about what is the difference between the two methods of applications/ delivery in terms of residues and resistance.
