<My good friend Kirk Jones is Sleeping Bear Apiaries which is named for the
park located near his home in Michigan.>

I'm trying to place a name here. I live in Michigan and head up to wine
country every year to stock up (Keweenaw Area mostly great for whites, not
so great for reds). Anyway last year there was a new winery that stocks
Mead as well called Raftshol. I thought they said they used Sleeping Bear
Dunes honey. Same guy? Or different one in the same location? Anyway
they made a lot of star thistle honey, which is some of the mead I bought
and had a good lot of colonies. Just curiosity really, good mead though
(of course I'll drink or eat most anything with honey in it).

More in line with the thread, I'm up to 11 colonies currently and
expanding, not sure where that line will be either, but I have no intention
of quiting my day job as a teacher so I may be capped under 50, we'll see.
The faster I get, the more stuff I find I should be doing. I learned more
in a couple trips to the yard with 11 than a couple of years with 2. I
imagine it depends greatly on your method of keeping bees <shrug> good luck
and best wishes is the most advice I can give you there.
