Exactly right, Bob.  We used to do that when installing in daylight and the 
weather was warm.  We'd use a washtub.

We preferred to install at dusk, but sometimes, with a thousand or so to do 
and distance to cover, we had to work when we could.

Yes it works.  Also dunking the queen cage in the syrup feeder and getting 
her wet keeps her from flying when we'd rip the screen off and drop her 
among the bees.  We always did direct release.
