>>>  higher humidity favors longer survival as does a non porous surface.  Lower temps favor longer survival.  That last point might be important to bee keepers as often the suggestion is to freeze combs from dead outs to store them.  <><>  Since we freeze combs to remove the threat of wax moth and small hive beetle eggs hatching it might bee of benefit to first freeze our equipment  and then maintain the equipment in a high (80º+), dry environment as a treatment process for our rehabilitated hardware.
