I have been searching for an answer and it seems the web is all over the
place.
What is the life span of a drone? Some reads say 2-3 weeks after hatching
best count on sperm and only lives about 50-60 days. Others say till fall
when they get kicked out for the winter. I am changing all my queens to get
a better genetic base. I know some like the small darker bee but I am not
fond of them. I raise my own queens, but since I am buying from 2 different
sources, how long after I put these queens in should I wait to reduce the
likely hood of the leftover drones mating this summer with my grafts?
