Does anyone have any experience with dipping hive boxes, bottom boards etc. in paraffin wax, beeswax or a combination of the two, as an alternative to painting. Would this cause any problems in the hive especially in the cold winter weather when condensation is a problem? We were also wondering if this method might help protect equipment from disease particularly AFB spores? Any information would be appreciated.
