Hi,

I have used a crockpot for many years to melt cappings and non-brood combs.
However it becomes much harder to process brood combs in a crock pot due to
all the slum.  If you plan to stay in beekeeping and possibly expand you may
wish to use something like this.  Here is what I use to render combs:

It may be more than you need at this time but is something to consider in
the future.
