University of Maryland who introduced his breakthrough research at EAS a few years back and is now on the talking circuit credited with having uncovered 50 years of misconception about what mites feed on, one begins to wonder if the authors of this study got the mode of action right.

I noticed that also, but pondered does it matter if its hemolymph or fat bodies?? W are now suspecting/proving that its fat bodies on Larva, but is that true for adult phoretics also?? Adults being less likely to have fat bodies the mites can easily access?

Either way if its in the bees and transferred thru feeding it seems to be the mode of entry, not action.

Charles
