If anybody has information about the vapor temperature, and rate of
introduction affecting the efficacy of treating with OAV, I'd very much like
to see it. I've seen data on amount of oxalic acid sublimated altering
efficacy, but not the other variables.



There is some good data out there from Germany,  bottom line its next to
impossible to harm them from sublimation. I seem to recall they went as high
as 10 grams for doubles with no apparent effect.   That is the bueaty of
vapors of OA,  very hard to overdose at a single application.

As for temps,  Personally I always wait until after a freeze,  and pick one
of those 40 degree days.  Going on 5 years  and mites are not usually a
major issue in my yards until July.

In talking with another member here off line,  it does appear there is some
research that shows repeated usage of OA in a season can be hard on the
hives.   Which if you think about it  really makes sense with any treatments
we use.  Any treatment is going to stress the situion,  and repeated
stresses are bad,  bottom line.  Only use what you need to keep them
healthy,  Proactive treatments of any sort repeated to often will be hard on
the bees.
