Before Langstroth's patent 9300 there was about one beehive patent a decade
but afterwards there were many more. Among my favorites were a Langstroth
hive made of felt, and another a Langstroth hive made of concrete.

As I have remarked, the 1912 redrawing of patent 9300--which is what you
get from the patent office and google patents--is missing lines, making it
impossible to construct from the drawings. There is no entrance for the
bees.
