I always have my "smart" phone on me (fortunately or unfortunately) and use
the app InkPad Notepad to record status of hives. Like a word document it
is infinitely editable and expandable and notes can be recorded in
chronological sequence. And it syncs to my desktop. I'm sure there are
other phone apps that work as well. If you are fat-fingered, as I am, a
ball point pen with stylus works fine.
