Have finally made contact with Juanse, and all is well with him and his family.
His beekeeper associates there (and there are many) have also come through the experience unharmed...only 1 has been uncontactable so far.
No power, no water, no internet no phones but text messaging works. He has been busy drawing river water and delivering to the local community with his bee truck. Bridges and flyovers have all collapsed so moving around the place is difficult but they are managing. He asked me to send a thank you message to Bee-L, and I am sure you will all be glad to hear the news. He promises a posting on "quake beekeeping" as soon as communications are restored.
