I wonder if that’s one of the benefits of having a narrow “waist”, preventing heat from traveling to the reproductive material during flight. Bakersbeesllc>

We have some data that suggest bees may be able to transfer heat between parts of the body.  Also, there's the whole topic of heater bees.
