I have tried to keep virgins for a day on two in a Thorne nursery cage (frame with 16 cages to take cells).

So far 5 out of 6 have been dead next day (4 out of 4 first time, 1 out of 2 second time), even though they hatched into the cages and the frame was in a queenless colony (cell raiser).

Anyone had any experience of keeping virgins, or of these cages?

Best wishes

Peter
