Agree, but E-coli (admittedly only the O157:H7 strain) has caused serious
outbreaks of food poisoning in parts of the UK resulting in a number of
deaths.  Those outbreaks gained considerable publicity and so I would not
wish to see reports of this bacterium being used in hives; the Press would
probably have a field day!
