A lot of the so-called alternative medicine gets undeserved criticism.  There is a lot of scientific validation of the homeopathic benefits by mainstream science.  One example:

We use homeopathic cold preparations for our kids and we find them to be effective.  Unlike over the counter alternatives, they don't have side effects.  [There have been official warnings about children's otc cold medications.]
