All you need to do to get higher prices is get rid of the free enterprise economic system.   One good way to do this would be to slap a bunch of federal regulations on the business and load the producers up with paper work and get rid of all the smaller producers who can not afford the paper work.


Exactly what the fools at the IQI did here in IL on purpose..... used to be a person could raise and sell queens,  as of last year you have to be inspected and "approved" to do it.....


But  the point I wanted to make was on early failure,  I would agree 100% with Randy, with the addition that it also depends on the introduction.   A Hive that has no emerging brood,  will often superced (like swarms) something most beeks forget and want to blame the queen.

But to Dicks point,  that would be with a caged and reintroduced queen.  Many times that process is the problem.  I have found that with my own raised queens,  I take the whole frame shes on and introducer her that way,  I don’t loose any.....Just an observation.
