Glyphosate kills plants after being absorbed primarily through
actively growing leaves. After it is in the soil, it has little or no
residual activity. From casual observations of fields in many states,
the combination of Roundup-ready seeds and a highly effective
inexpensive herbicide has created incredibly clean true monocultures
during the growing season.
