Hi All

Britain, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia and likely other countries
have had a burn only protocol for years. Propolactic antibiotic
treatments are recommended by the Ministry of Agriculture here in
Ontario. I have proved as have others including a local certified
organic beekeeper that you can't go very long without treatments here
before AFB breaks out. There are too many beekeepers who avoid
treatments and keep AFB around for all of us. If we had, years ago,
taken the burn only route we would be almost free of AFB as they are
those places where burn is the only choice. Burning bees is not fun
but it seems to have paid off where its the only choice.
