Richard Cartwright said "I was worried about the effects that any caffeine
ingested by the bees may
have on individual bees, or the hive behavior as a whole, so I buried the
coffee grinds."

At times of year such as this, when the bees do not have an abundance of
'normal' nectar and pollen sources they go to some pretty strange places,
such as bird feeders, corn cribs, compost piles, and even some reasonably
disgusting places that I won't describe (but us farmers know about).  I have
never known any ill effects from such visits, nor have any been mentioned to
me.

Don't worry about it.
