Anyone thinking of using antibiotic extender patties should either use the
commercially available ones, or hold off a bit until a better copy of the EAS
"new" recipe is available (I too would like to see it). The recipe recently
reported looks too far off the old one , to be real!!

The "old" recipe (Wilson, W., J. Elliot and J. Lackett 1979?) I have listed as:

1/3 lb Crisco
2/3 lb granulated sugar
2 Tbl Tablespoons TM 25

Stir antibiotic and sugar into a uniform blend.
Mix in the shortening without heating, to make a large patty.
Divide mix into 2, 1/2 lb patties. Put each on a 6 x 6 inch sheet of heavy brown
wrapping paper. Give 1 patty per colony, on the top bars of the lower hive body.

(Other recipes have used liquid veg oil and more sugar)

(The recipe reported from notes had only "2 t" (?) antibiotic for
4? patties...much less than the above. I'd have to see a more definite
reference before I could believe it)
