   Randy mentioned the cues,  I am extremly curious also as we have been working on this for 3 seasons trying things.
This season is going to be a big clue I suspect.  My hives right now are in IL,  doing OA vapors yesterday and today (hope to finish)  They are completly and 100% broodless as we have been in freezing temps for 3 weeks or so.
headed to southern Texas friday of this week.  I have options of the southern Rio Grande valley,  but chose just south of Houstan.   My concern is that the southern valley (Mcallen TX)  would be a bit too warm.   
Based on the assumption they are good for 2 rounds of brood before they need pollen flows,  I really dont want them to brood up at all until Jan,  I suspect that they may start as soon as they hit the ground  which will create other problems.
Trying to decide if pollen sub should be added sooner to keep them strong,  or later to delay brood rearing.
