If you use Google Scholar to do the search (click on "more" on the google
toolbar and then select "scholar" from the drop down menu) then the paper
title usually takes you to the journal website, which generally has the
abstract.  But off to the right is often a site where you can get a free
copy of the paper, generally as a pdf. file, and often posted by the
author.  I think maybe 30% of the papers are available free somewhere.
