I have learned a lot from and because of newbees. They tend to question
the why of things and because of that they sometimes come up with a
different approach to doing things. I have been coaching a newbee this
year and already he has come up with some ideas that I intend to test next
season. The other way they help me to learn is sometimes they ask
questions that I don't have a ready answer for and I have to dig out an
answer.

By the way my newbee friend harvested my honey for me this year because I
broke my ankle just a week before harvest. When I thanked him, he brushed
it off and a learning experience. We all need more good friends like that.
