I couldn't agree more, but there is an alternative... (at least this works
in UK). Phone the Fire Brigade and explain what needs to be done and they
will despatch a turntable ladder or a cherry picker type vehicle to assist
you.

Another phone call to the local newspaper will ensure that beekeeping and
the fire service get good publicity.

This is PR of the best substance as the beekeeper is demonstrating that he
is a good citizen in removing the bees and the Fire Dept is shown as helping
the beekeeper to do this 'safely'.
