>SPRAYS KILL MANY BEES

>George H. Rea, extension specialist from the State College of Agriculture at
Cornell, has just completed a tour through the fruit section Investigating
the amount of damage done to the honey Industry by fruit spraying. He found
that the damage clone Is very extensive.

>One prominent beekeeper estimates his loss through the poisoning of honey
bees by spray to be $4,000. Mr. Rea claims that this damage could be
prevented if the spraying were done when the petals are falling instead of
when the bloom is full. This practice would not lessen the efficacy of the
spray in combating disease.
