Here is another question for all of you beekeeping pundits out there:

What is the rightful place of beekeeping amongst all other USA agricultural giants that are holding their hands out for government subsidies?

Of the many billions of dollars Pete says are spent subsidizing agriculture in the USA, what portion is rightfully due to beekeepers in general (assuming that the whole issue of subsidies is suspect regarding need versus profit)?

What is the percent of any current USA government agricultural subsidy money awarded to beekeepers, and can we parcel that out among corporate sized operations (arbitrarily defined here as more than 1K hives) vs. mom-and-pop (smaller than 1K hives) operations?

What websites serve the sunshine laws on these issues, if you know would you please share?

Christina
