  But isn't there some idea of what the actual number is amongst those who got this ball rolling in the first place?

He also said, "Like polling a thousand voters to see which candidate will probably win."
   
  When this is done the poll publisher usually tells us the error rate. Plus or minus some number or percentage. What's the error rate in CCD loss projections?
