Hmm. I realized the reason why I don't seem to have this problem: I don't sell anything to the public. Also, if I am in a rotten mood and don't want to talk to people, I don't answer the phone. 

Most of the people that call me for advice apologize first for bothering me, I tell them it's no bother, and when I have had enough I say politely, "I have to go now." 

Giving advice is fraught with peril, anyway. I am sure you have had the moment when someone comes up to you and says: "I did exactly what you told me to and ... "
