I am setting up some new hives for a friend, and they want to start with 3 medium supers, for the hive bodies., instead of deep supers. That is not a problem, but my question is how do you put package bees in the hive if you have stacked 3 high, or do you put them in the bottom sectiom, and then add 2 more on top.??

I also have seen some deep supers that have a 1 and 1/2 inch pipe sticking out of the front, and have the bottom entrance closed off with wire, so that the bees can't get in that way. Supposed to keep the small hive beatles down in the hive. If thats the case, can this be adapted to using the pipe, and medium supers in the as a hive body. ???

Any help will be greatly appreciated, as the bees are due for installation in the hive shortly. I live in South Carolina. thanks walt
